Are Supplements Your Foundation?
What’s the real deal with the supplement industry? Can you go to your local supplement store spend $200 for a month supply of magic pills and powders and will they make you THAT much better? Unfortunately…the supplement industry is mostly filled with total BS products which are mostly rice flour and have some cool colorful label. Bottom line is 90-100% of your nutrients from all sources should be coming from REAL FOOD.
20g of protein from steak will always help your body more than 20g of protein powder. Sure, I’ll throw in a protein shake once in awhile if I can’t fit in a meal or I’m low on that macro for the day- hence it being called a supplement. If you’re getting the majority of your protein through shakes…that’s an issue. Supplement what you cant get everyday (omega 3’s, multivitamins, essential micronutrients) but skip the rest. Instead of spending 100’s on supplements spend a fraction of that on real foods and get better results from it.
